In 2011, Lacey Russ became the first Miss America’s Outstanding Teen from Oklahoma. She launched into a whirl-wind journey traveling over 100 days and nights during her one year reign. In that time, Lacey spoke and performed for over 130 million people across America. As Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, Lacey served as a national ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and her personal platform, P.U.R.E. Excellence.

Lacey is a passionate advocate of her message, P.U.R.E. Excellence, which encourages others to strive for “pure excellence” through a life of purity. P.U.R.E.-Perseverance, Understanding, Respect and Encouragement, are foundational characteristics for building a lifestyle of purity. Lacey has a heart to inspire others to not just live better, but live BEST!

After being offered over $700,000 in scholarships from various universities, including a $30,000 scholarship for winning Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, Lacey decided to attend Oral Roberts University as a Quest Whole Person Scholar. During her time at ORU Lacey was involved in the ORU Worship Center, having traveled to Indonesia during the Summer of 2012 with Music to the Nations. She worked for two years as the Founding Coordinator of Order of the Golden Eagle, a student organization representing the Office of the President. In 2013, Lacey became Youth Pastor at New Life Center where she was on staff until May 2014 when she moved to Itauguay, Paraguay to serve as an English teacher for 7th-11th grade at Tape Pyahu (New Path) school while living at Hogar El Camino Children’s Home. Upon returning from Paraguay, Lacey was hired as the Head Event Coordinator for ORU Missions and Outreach.

Lacey graduated from Oral Roberts University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a Business minor in December 2014. She plans to continue her education working toward a Master’s in Business Administration.

Currently, Lacey works full-time as Campus Visits Coordinator for ORU Admissions. She enjoys to travel speaking at various events and is the reigning Miss Tulsa State Fair. Lacey continues working with her platform and is an official volunteer with The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis. Lacey desires to be a catalyst for Christ in a world that desperately needs Him. “I have been blessed with an incredible life, which I strive to glorify God through. I’m really just an All-American girl, yet what sets me apart is that strive for excellence in every endeavor of my life. Every day I work to embody 1 Timothy 4:12: ‘Don’t let others look down on you because you are young, but set an example for other believers through your speech, behavior, love, faith and PURITY.’”
