Miss
America's Outstanding Teen featured in
Tony Bowls Collection National Ad Campaign
Caitlin Brunell, Miss
America's Outstanding Teen 2008 is featured in a Tony Bowls
Collection national ad campaign which kicked off earlier
this month in Pageantry magazine. Tony Bowls is the
"Official Dress Designer" for the Miss America's Outstanding
Teen competition, the "little sister" to the Miss America
Organization, and has been a supporter of the program for
the past three years.
"It's
always exciting for me to have the opportunity to influence
trends by creating gowns the young ladies of this teen
program request and want to wear," said Tony Bowls. "I
embrace their passion of style and fashion and try to convey
their excitement through advertising campaigns like Caitlin
Brunell's for the Tony Bowls Collection."
As Miss America's Outstanding Teen, Caitlin had the
opportunity to model three different gowns for the Tony
Bowls Collection in various settings. Bowls plans to run the
ads in numerous fashion, teen, and pageant magazines.
"Caitlin brings not only a great sense of style to the MAOT
program but is also an inspiration for today's young ladies
to showcase their own personal style in pageant attire,"
said Bowls.
"Modeling for the Tony Bowls Collection was a dream come
true. I've always loved Tony's gowns. He has a way of
capturing my spirit and making me feel incredible!" said
Caitlin.
In addition to The Tony Bowls Collection and his successful,
groundbreaking pageant line, Tony Bowls for Mon Cheri, Tony
is also the designer of Paris by Tony Bowls, Le Gala by Tony
Bowls and the special occasion collection, Tony Bowls
Evenings. With twenty years of retail experience, he applies
firsthand knowledge of what the fashion-forward customer is
looking for to the designs of these extraordinary brands.
"With fashion constantly changing and evolving, the style of
the young women who compete in the Miss America's
Outstanding Teen program is also ever-changing. The young
contemporary fashion trend continues to grow in popularity
among teens in America. I design with this trend in mind for
not only my social occasion styles but also in the fashions
worn for pageants today," said Bowls.
Tony Bowls has a long history supporting the Miss America's
Outstanding Teen organization. As the Official Dress
Designer, each year Bowls provides cocktail dresses to the
52 representatives competing in the national pageant in
August in Orlando, Florida.
Bowls is also planning a professional photo shoot to feature
all 52 contestants individually during this year's national
competition. Each teen representative will be pampered with
professional hair styling and make-up artistry and given the
opportunity to model high fashion gowns from the Tony Bowls
Collection. Once the photos shoot is complete, each
contestant will be offered the chance to receive the photos
for their portfolios.
Zac Grimaldo,
Official MAOT Photographer, worked on the national ad
campaign for the Tony Bowls Collection and will once again
be shooting the contestants' portfolio pictures at the
national pageant.
"Working with Tony is great because there's always a lot of
energy on the shoot, and it runs from the creative to the
talent and back again," said Grimaldo. "It's wonderful when
a client allows that freedom and trusts everyone working on
the project; it produces really great images."
Miss America's Outstanding Teen is a scholarship-based
program offering accomplished teens the opportunity to be
awarded funds for college. The program promotes scholastic
achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and
community involvement for America's teens. For more

MISS TEXAS ORGANIZATION TEAMS UP
WITH CAITLIN'S CLOSET
Contestants Collect over $300,000 worth of gently
worn prom gowns

Fort Worth, Texas - April
21, 2008 - Over 2300 special occasion dresses were
collected during a dress drive hosted by Miss Texas and Miss
Teen Texas on behalf of Caitlin's Closet, a non-profit
organization founded by Caitlin Brunell, the current Miss
America's Outstanding Teen, which collects gently worn prom gowns and
distributes them to girls who would otherwise not be able to
afford to attend their proms.
"It's really amazing what 78
individuals can come together and do in only four short
weeks!" said Lydia Hall, Director of Miss Teen Texas. "Our
local titleholders have given over 2300 young women in seven
Texas school districts the opportunity to have a pretty
outfit to wear on their special day. I am so very proud to
be part of an organization that fosters such endeavors!"
38 Miss Teen Texas local
titleholders and 40 Miss Texas local titleholders showed up
at the Burleson High School in Burleson, Texas with bags of
dresses under their arms on the first Saturday in April.
These young women will go on to compete in the Miss Teen
Texas and Miss Texas Pageants, July 1st-5th in Fort Worth,
Texas.
"Working with Caitlin's Closet
has been so rewarding, it is such a great program," said
Callie Thompson, Miss Teen Texas 2007. "I hope that this
program continues to help underprivileged young women around
the country."
Caitlin Brunell, the daughter
of NFL player Mark Brunell, founded Caitlin's Closet in 2006
when she was fourteen years old.
"I wanted to do something to
help other teens," Caitlin says. "I realized that every girl
should be able to attend school events and feel good about
herself, and I thought I might be able to help make that
happen."
Caitlin has sponsored events
in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Florida, Nevada and Texas,
and is planning to host more collection drives in California
and Kentucky this year. She will distribute those gowns
during prom season at events in Oklahoma, California,
Florida, Texas and Virginia.
Since its founding, Caitlin's
Closet has collected over 5000 prom gowns and special
occasion dresses. Her hard work hasn't gone unnoticed.
Caitlin is the current Miss America's Outstanding Teen,
representing the Commonwealth of Virginia. She won more than
$30,000 in college scholarships at the Miss America's
Outstanding Teen competition in Orlando, Florida in August
2007. The "little sister" competition to the Miss America
Scholarship Organization, this not-for-profit program has
provided more than $2 million in college scholarships
nationally to young women from 13 to 17 years of age. The
title has given Caitlin a nationwide vehicle to promote
Caitlin's Closet.
"Helping others is what the
Miss America Organization is all about," said Molly Hazlett,
Miss Texas 2007. "The support of this project shows how
dedicated and giving each contestant can be."
The gowns were distributed to
seven area school districts in Texas. Representatives from
each district attended the dress drive and left with
hundreds of gowns to give to girls in their areas.

February 4, 2008 - KIM PARRISH NAMED
PRESIDENT OF MISS AMERICA’S OUTSTANDING TEEN |
Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, Inc., a
little sister to the Miss America Organization that promotes
scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy
living and community involvement for America's teens, has
named TV fashion commentator and entrepreneur Kim Parrish as
president. A former Miss West Virginia (1992), Kim is the
creator of The Kim Parrish Collection clothing line on HSN
and HSN.com. (see
www.kimparrishcollection.com and
www.maoteen.org)
Miss America's Outstanding Teen is a scholarship-based
program offering accomplished teens the opportunity to be
awarded funds for college, thanks to the efforts of
thousands of volunteers across the country. The first Miss
America’s Outstanding Teen competition for girls 13 to 17
was held in 2005, and the current titleholder is Caitlin
Brunell of Great Falls, VA. The 2008 competition will take
place August 12 – 16, 2008 in Orlando, FL.
Kim Parrish has volunteered with the Miss America
Organization for the past 15 years, including directing the
Miss West Virginia’s Outstanding Teen competition and
serving as a judge for the national finals in Orlando.
“I intend to help develop a strong financial foundation and
expand national recognition for this outstanding
organization and its participants,” says Kim. “In today’s
fast-paced world, teens can’t afford to look to young
Hollywood for role models. They need to find inspiration
within themselves, their families, schools and community.
Through its exceptional mentoring program, Miss America’s
Outstanding Teen provides leadership and scholarship
opportunities for teens, that will help them prepare for
successful futures.”
As a result of spending eight years as a popular TV shopping
host on QVC, she is a familiar face to millions of viewers
across the country, and has been featured in dozens of
articles from TV Guide to the New York Times. Her TV
assignments have taken her to Ireland, Italy and across the
USA, including to Salt Lake City, where she reported on the
2002 Winter Olympics. She also has appeared in hundreds of
television, theatre and off-Broadway productions. In 2005
she launched the Kim Parrish Collection, a designer-inspired
clothing line, on HSN.
A graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s
degree in fine arts, and a native of Parkersburg, West
Virginia, Kim resides in the Tampa Bay area with her husband
and their son. |

Orlando Magic
Youth Foundation, Miss America and Miss America's Outstanding
Teens Teach Orlando's Youth to Follow Their Dreams.
Orlando, Fl.---As
52 Outstanding Teens get ready to embark on a week they will
never forget, 30-50 of Orlando's Orlando Magic Youth
Foundation (a fund of the McCormick Tribune Foundation)
children will embark on a day they will never forget.
As Orlando prepares for the Third Annual Miss America's
Outstanding Teen Competition from August 7-11th, 2007, hosted
by 2007 Miss America Lauren Nelson, at the Orange County
Convention Center, Linda Chapin theatre, there will be lots of
time for rehearsals, press interviews and sightseeing, but the
best time of all will be on Thursday, August 9th, 2007, when
between 30-50 of Orlando's youth from the Orlando Magic Youth
Foundation will watch as Miss America and the 52 Miss
America's Outstanding Teen contestants sing, dance, rehearse
and film for the final night of competition on August 11,
2007.
On Thursday, August 9th from 3-5:30, the youth will be able to
sit in the audience and watch how film-makers, camera crews,
choreographers, and stage assistants all work together to put
on a "Broadway" type show. Press are encouraged to come and
take part in this wonderful experience and partake in
questions from the children and interviews with Miss America.
In addition to this, the youth themselves will be able to talk
to Miss America, Lauren Nelson, ask questions and enjoy a
pizza party with all the contestants afterwards.
"We are thrilled as a non-profit organization, to be able to
help another non-profit, but most importantly, we are thrilled
to be able to see the promise in these young men and women's
faces as they learn, ask questions and know that anything is
possible if you stick with it," states Donna Bozarth,
President and Chairman of the Miss America's Outstanding Teen
Organization (MAOT).
The MAOT organization is a non-profit, just like the Orlando
Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF), striving to give back to the
community, while at the same time raising money for college
scholarships for the 52 contestants. MAOT has "adopted" the
OMYF as one of their charities of choice and will donate a
portion of their earnings to this local organization that
supports so many different Central Florida children's
charities.
