MISS AMERICA'S OUTSTANDING TEEN ANNOUNCES PRE-CASTING
CALL FOR MAOT STATE TITLEHOLDERS
Dolphin Entertainment allows MAOT
titleholders to audition a week early!
Orlando, FL - Miss
America's Outstanding Teen announced today that Dolphin
Entertainment, MAOT's Talent Sponsor, has provided the
opportunity to cast for its feature film based on the life
of shark attack survivor and professional surfer Bethany
Hamilton. The film is titled, Soul Surfer: The Bethany
Hamilton Story, and Dolphin Entertainment is casting for
the roles of Bethany and her best friend Alana. This is a
very special opportunity because until Sept.12th, the only
audition tapes coming in will be from MAOT! The nationwide
search is from Sept. 12th-Oct. 15th.
The Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization, the little
sister to the Miss America Organization, is thrilled to
continue the partnership between MAOT and Dolphin
Entertainment and to be able to provide opportunities for
their titleholders.
"I'm pleased that Bill O'Dowd and Dolphin Entertainment
recognize the quality of talent involved with the MAOT
Organization," said Kim Parrish, president of MAOT. "Dolphin
Entertainment is an asset to our organization and we look
forward to a wonderful relationship providing positive
opportunities for teens in the entertainment industry."

O'Dowd, is one of the world's leading entertainment
companies specializing in children's and young adult
live-action programming.
Dolphin is Executive Producer to Nickelodeon hit series
Zoey 101 (Primetime Emmy® Award nominated) and Ned's
Declassified School Survival Guide. Zoey 101
currently ranks as the number one live-action series on
cable among tweens, in both the United States and Canada.
Both series have gone on to see incredible international
success and can be viewed in over 100 countries worldwide.
Hawaiian native Bethany Hamilton began her career as a
surfer with her first competition at age 11. By age 13, she
was an accomplished surfer and well-respected in the surfing
world. Her lifelong dream of becoming a professional surfer
was interrupted on October 31, 2003, when she was attacked
by a 14-foot tiger shark while surfing off Kauai's North
Shore. The attack left Bethany with a lost arm but did not
destroy her eagerness and courage to continue to pursue her
dream. Bethany was back in the water one month later,
learning to surf and paddle again with one arm.
At the age of just 18, Bethany has achieved her dream of
becoming one of the top professional women's surfers in the
world, and is currently ranked in the top 20. Bethany has
chosen to use her experience to become an inspiration and
help others overcome adversity.

Since
17-year-old Taylor Fitch heard her name called as
Miss America's Outstanding Teen, she has been a busy girl!
Immediately after the pageant, Taylor was escorted to the
press conference. Once she was finished answering questions
from the media, she was presented with a beautiful necklace
and pair of earrings from the official jeweler of MAOT,
Zivot. Taylor was then taken to the after party
sponsored by ybf Beauty to celebrate and
relax. The next morning, Taylor had her first official
meeting with Chairwoman of the Board, Donna Bozarth.
On August 18th, Taylor flew to Atlanta for her first
national appearance alongside Miss America, Kirtsten Haglund.
Tony Bowls, the official designer for MAOT, hosted
Taylor at the AmericasMart where she showcased exclusive
collections designed for prom, pageantry and other special
occasions.
After her busy days at the AmericasMart, Taylor returned
home to Anderson, SC to prepare for a very exciting school
year. With a career in forensic pathology and medicine in
mind, Taylor has a very full schedule and looks forward to
maintaining her excellent GPA. Taylor was also the recipient
of the academic award at this year's pageant.
With her platform, "Overcoming Challenges: Heart, Mind
and Hands," Taylor reaches out to special needs
individuals. In the last two weeks, Taylor participated in
Midnight Flight and Spring Water Festival races which are 5K
races in South Carolina. Taylor's love for 5K races inspired
her to create change and encourage race organizers to let
people with physical challenges participate in the races. At
these races, Taylor ran alongside 3 new race participants
that benefited from her desire to include everyone-
regardless of challenges.
Last Friday she traveled to have her new photos taken as
Miss America's Outstanding Teen by the official photographer
for MAOT, Zac Grimaldo.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year with Taylor!
Here are just a few examples of Taylor in the news:

At
the farewell luncheon sponsored by La Casa Hermosa for
Caitlin Brunell, Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2008, Ami
Manning presented over 50 dresses on behalf of Paris, Nicky
and Kathy Hilton to Brunell for Caitlin's Closet. Brunell
started Caitlin's Closet to be able to provide girls with
dresses for special occasions that could not otherwise
afford them thus raising their self esteem.
The dresses were divided and many of the remaining dresses
will be auctioned off by Robin Fleming and La Casa Hermosa
to raise money for Caitlin's Closet and MAOT. Funds raised
for Caitlin's Closet will go to purchase specific sizes that
are in popular demand. Details to follow...
