RE: Entry Fee Increase
Almost four years ago, when
this teen program began, there was a great deal of
discussion regarding the entry fee. Upon the recommendation
of the Steering Committee, the entry fee was set at $1000
per state, per year. Without a prior budget or any history
of income and expenses, we agreed this was a reasonable
starting point.
Since those humble
beginnings, this organization has experienced remarkable
progress and growth, both in the overall experience we
provide to our teen contestants and also in our financial
commitments. The company has carefully tracked our operating
expenses, and has seen cost increases in nearly every area.
After a thorough
examination of this information, we have found it impossible
to continue providing the same high quality program and
memorable experience for our teens from the original entry
fee amount.
At this important time in
the continuing expansion and operation of this company, we
are announcing an increase of the entry fee to $1250 per
state, per year.
We are constantly searching
for ways to make this program the best it can be and for
opportunities to provide the state organizations with ideas
and tools for increasing your fundraising ability. We will
continue to give our best efforts to you and make MAOT the
best it can be.
Sincerely,
Miss America's Outstanding Teen, Inc. Board of Directors
