Feb. 5th-The Mayor, Lunch With Seniors, and Rehearsal!

Hi! This morning Kate’s mom made a wonderful breakfast for us!! Mmm….cinnamon braided bread is my favorite! After getting ready, we headed over to the City Hall, where I met Mayor Tim Howe, the mayor of Coon Rapids. After being interviewed by a reporter from the Coon Rapids Herald, and then got a picture with the mayor and his famous Coon Rapids coon-tail hat! It was great getting a chance to meet him and learn more about the historic city of Coon Rapids.

After meeting with the mayor, we headed right next door to the Senior Center, where we helped serve lunch to the seniors and got a chance to meet and visit with them! It was really fun. I love spending time with seniors–they have lots of life expirience and stories that are fun to share.

After lunch, we went to another rehearsal for the Coon Rapids Pageant. I got a chance to meet all of the contestants…they were all so beautiful and  talented! I fell in love with each one of them! After rehearsal, we got a chance to spend some time with Kate at her house.

I am really enjoying my time in Minnesota. The people that I’ve met are so kind and gracious. The Coon Rapids community is very supportive of the pageant, and vice versa. It’s a great relationship!

XOXO,

Jeanette
